It may be known for it's party scene but Pattaya has much more to often than nightlife. With long stretches of beaches, al fresco dining, great bars and slick resorts, Pattaya is perfect for a weekend getaway, located just two hours drive out of Bangkok.

EAT & drink

The Glass House - Located out of town, this is one of the most hip spots in the region. This white-on-white restaurant sprawls through a glasshouse and out on to the beach under twinkling fairy lights. Horizon - This rooftop restaurant and bar at the Hilton Hotel has some of the best views over Pattaya. The tapas style menu offers modern bites such as Korean fried chicken, beef kofta with yoghurt and crispy pork. Sugar Hut Restaurant - For an authentic Thai meal, this jungle-style restaurant serves up delicious curries and stir fries at a reasonable price. Located in the Sugarhut Resort, its best to book ahead. http://sugarhut-resort.com

Pattaya Boxing World - This boxing studio is infamous for it's Muay Thai boxing and puts on shows bi-weekly. These events have the sophistication and atmosphere of a major title show so be prepared for a big crowd. http://www.pattayaboxingworld.com
