LE QUATTRO DAME
By Rhiannon Taylor, December 2016
'To take the stairs or the pretty antique elevator up to Le Quattro Dame?" one thinks on arrival at Rome's chic new apartment-style hotel. Overlooking Chiesa Del Gesu and only a few steps further to Piazza Venezia, Le Quattro Dame is nestled in a part of Rome that is bursting with historic buidlings, art and tear-inducing food. Upon check in you're greeted in a fluid reception and office area by Dora. She's exquisitely well-spoken and has a love for all that is cool in Rome. From design stores, to bars and great restaurants, she effortlessly gives you her tips on the district's hidden gems.
There are six suites, ranging in size. All have historic high ceilings and modern wooden floorboards and are furnished with chic, sophisticated Italian-designed furniture and linens. If you have a balcony suite your views over the Chiesa Del Gesu are incredible in the morning and the afternoon light spills through the double doors over daily fresh blooms. The central lounge is adorned with Italian portraiture that blends in to a muted sea-green wall. There's a Nespresso machine and Wifi for those lazy afternoons and if you're wanting a full kitchenette book the owner's split-level suite. It comes decked out with a dining and lounge area, laundry and two bathrooms.
The real draw card however, is the peace and quiet. There's not a peep to be heard, from either street traffic or fellow guests. And after a long day walking the cobblestone streets, waddling in full of Carbonara from Roscioli, one just wants some zen. That's exactly what Le Quattro Dame gives.
