Tucked behind the main street of Fredericksburg, nestled in Texas' Hill Country lies quaint bed and breakfast Hoffman Haus. Set amongst charming, manicured grounds, this twenty-three room guest house is a romantic escape with Texan charm.
The common spaces feature a grand dining room adjacent to a warm, light-filled library. It's quite easy to spend the mornings here, lounging on the rich leather sofas, indulging in the house cookie jar and browsing the beautifully curated book collection. Meandering from the main house to your room feels almost magical walking through through fairy-light clad archways, brushing past pomegranate trees heavy with fruit and a sleeping cat or two.
Rooms are individually furnished with four poster king-sized beds and hand-painted wallpaper. There's wifi throughout the property and a DVD library for a quiet night in. The kitchenette's come stocked with juice, bottled water, coffee and tea and breakfast is delivered to your room each morning, with a gentle knock on the door. On your doorstep you'll find a picnic basket filled with a sumptuous feast of peach cobbler, made with peaches from the local farms and crumbly scones or perhaps a sausage and scrambled eggs.
Town is about a leisurely 5-10 minute walk away and there's a spa on site if you're after a massage or beauty treatments. If you're feeling peckish there's a concise in-room dining menu and the chefs are quite happy to cater to dietary requirements. A mixed produce board with cured meats and cheeses, and some local wine goes down quite happily on the front porch under swaying trees.
