The QT group is known for their attention to detail and for embracing their properties destination. Newly opened QT Bondi is no different with the rooms having a fresh beach-chic aesthetic. Their beds however are serious business with custom King Koil mattresses that are heaven to jump in to after a night out in Bondi. With the right amount of pillow options and silky cotton sheets, these beds don’t muck around when it comes to getting the best sleep. [read our review here]

HALCYON HOUSE -

There are so many good things about Halcyon House, however their breakfast takes the cake. Not only is your morning meal delivered to your room at no extra charge, the menu is an ever-changing artisanal feast with lots of local produce. Pancakes, smoothies, crumpets and eggs are done to perfection and served fresh and hot. [read our review here]

BEST BUDGET HOTEL - WE LOVE LUXE FOR LESS

POGGIO BARONTI -

We stumbled upon this bed and breakfast and it immediately stole our hearts. Located a 10 minute drive from Florence city, nestled in sweeping Tuscan countryside, Poggio Baronti has a handful of rooms filled with Italian designer furniture from only $99 AUD per night. The communal space is quaint and romantic and the breakfast is filled with organic cured meats, local cheeses, fresh bread, yoghurt and fruit.

BEST POOL - LETS FLOAT

L'HORIZON RESORT AND SPA -

Pools are everywhere in Palm Springs, but L’Horizon nudges across the line with it’s ample lounging space and cabanas. Poolside at L’Horizon is a peaceful experience with a great bar and food service, 360 degrees of palm tree surrounds and tepid, still water. [read our review here]

BEST RESTAURANT - FEED US

MONTEVERDI TUSCANY -

We cant decide what’s better at Monteverdi, being able to make your own pasta or ordering it off the menu. Either way chef Giancarla Bodoni teaches and cooks up some of the best Tuscan cuisine in the province. Steaks are lovingly sourced and grilled and ravioli with sage and butter sauce is some of the best we’ve ever had.  [read our review here]

BEST HOTEL BAR - MEET US FOR A DRINK

TOP OF THE STANDARD -

Top of the Standard is an iconic night out when visiting New York but it remains cool, with locals still frequenting this hot spot. Grab a chair, a cocktail jug and watch the sunset. It may not be the new kid on the block but its still brilliant.

BEST ROOM VIEW - LET'S WAKE UP HERE

LONGITUDE 131 -

Waking up in your deluxe swag to a jaw dropping view of Uluru on an architecturally designed balcony with a tray of nibbles and a flickering fire really blew us away this year. If you're heading down under, this view is a must-see.

BEST DESIGN - CHIC AND FUNCTIONAL

COMO THE TREASURY -

COMO The Treasury has style that will impress the fussiest of the design elite. High ceilings, heritage features, Scandi accents and luxe joinery makes this hotel one of the chicest to burst on to the market recently. The rooms maximize light with original oversized windows and the bathrooms are cleverly set up for couples, with double showerheads and sinks. [read our review here]

BEST NEWCOMER - WHO'S THE NEW KID ON THE BLOCK

QT MELBOURNE -

The much needed QT Melbourne was a breath of fresh air in this cosmopolitan city. Loft style rooms, a fab restaurant and a hip rooftop make this new guy not only cool but filling a void in Melbourne’s hotel scene.

BEST HOTEL SPA - PUT YOUR FEET UP

MONTEVERDI TUSCANY -

We really can’t stop raving about Monteverdi Tuscany and it’s spa which is a must-splurge. Using ancient apothecary Santa Maria Novella products, the treatments are divine and the private plunges have sweeping Tuscan views. [read more]

MOST ROMANTIC HOTEL - GRAB YOUR LOVER

IL SALVIANTINO -

Its hard not to fall in love at Il Salviatino. Dark rich leather furniture, views of the Duomo and manicured gardens adorn this historic Florentine villa. There's been more than a few weddings held here and with it's beautiful wine cellar and great restaurant, it's will bring out the love bug in the most grumpiest of traveller. [read our review here]

BEST EXPERIENTIAL HOTEL - SEE, LEARN, FEEL, RELAX

CAPELLA LODGE -

There are few places we're aching to get back to but Capella Lodge has a place in our hearts that leaves us longing for more. We don't know if its pristine beaches, the fresh food, the invigorating hikes or the easy going lodge atmosphere but there really is nowhere like Capella Lodge on Lord Howe Island.
